Yes, pizza can be a healthy choice for dinner and it doesn’t have to taste like rubber. And I can tell you how. Ever hear of zpizza? If not, get ready to get excited about pizza again. If so, just enjoy the photos and try not to drool on your keyboard.
zpizza is taking a whirlwind 5 city tour across the United States this summer and decided to put little ol’ Cary, North Carolina on the map. Sue and I were invited to attend the tour stop in Cary on Tuesday, July 20th for food, fun, prizes, and lots of free samples. Nothing was going to keep us from attending. Except daily life.
Busy moms and busy women sometimes have busy lives with unexpected scheduled changes. So while neither of us were able to attend the event in Cary, I decided to create my own zpizza night.
My experience was great from the moment I decided to order pizza for dinner. I was getting ready to pick my son up and my husband wasn’t home yet. I got to pick the pizza and toppings all by myself. Being a lover of convenience, it was especially awesome that I could do all that from the comfort of my own computer. I found my location, picked my pizzas, modified where necessary, and even set the exact time I wanted to pick them up. Off to a good start.
Since I live close to the Raleigh, NC location, I made my way there and the pizzas were ready right on time. I told the manager that I had missed the tour but was going to do my own sampling. He quickly opened the boxes of all three of my pizzas to reassure me I had made some very good choices. Thank you very much.

I know you’re with me so far but I guess you’re waiting for the healthy part, right? I already gave it to you. zpizza is focused on healthy eating with fresh ingredients. So here are some things to think about:
The wheat crust is made with whole wheat flour and olive oil. If you’re watching your carbs, this is your crust. My husband deemed it “the best wheat crust” he’s ever had.
The cheese is an award-winning part-skim mozzarella cheese that is also rBGH (bovine growth hormones) free.
The italian sausage is additive-free and the pepperoni is MSG free and lower in fat.
Are you getting the picture? zpizza uses the finest and freshest ingredients and organic is a word that’s commonly used on their menu.
Oh, and they make sure that that don’t just cater to mainstream America. They offer gluten-free crusts. I would have never thought that was a big deal until I knew someone who was on a gluten-free diet. Trust me. It’s important. And in recognition of the need for a gluten-free diet for many children with autism, zpizza partnered with Autism Speaks so that 30% of every gluten-free crust purchase went to the organization. Additionally, many dairy-free and meat-free ingredients can be selected for vegetarians and vegans alike.
One final note? It tastes good. We all enjoyed it. Even my picky eater.
Check out zpizza and let us know your closest location and what you would want to order!
