Okay. That was totally a sensationalist headline. It was a ploy to get you here. I hope it worked. If it did, then you must be one of those people who checks out the latest edition of Star or Enquirer when the headlines read “STARS without makeup.”
Why do we feel better looking at those pictures? Maybe it’s because we like knowing Angelina Jolie gets a zit once in a while.
I don’t think you have any pretenses about my celebrity status or my make up (but it’s okay if you do). I generally do wear makeup because I like the way it looks, or rather the way it makes ME look.
To be honest, I don’t use much. I don’t use foundation at all. I prefer to keep my skin looking as healthy as possible and then use a light dusting of face powder. At my age, it’s not always easy to pull off. I’ve been pretty satisfied with my skin care routine but at the urging of @stayathomebabe, I decided to give Honey Girl Organics a try. You never know when you’ll find that magic bullet, right?
All the way from Haleiwa, Hawaii, I received a package chockful of beauty goodies. Here’s what I got:
and a bunch of little samples of pretty much everything else (including the lip balm).
But instead of telling you all about these products, I thought I’d show you.
WARNING: I appear in this video with NO makeup on. In a bathrobe. With wet hair. No, it’s not one of those kinds of videos. I just like you to see that I really put products to the test.
Now that you’ve recovered from seeing a little too much Fadra, I thought I’d give you the quick lowdown on Honey Girl Organics. The bee-related products used in the line (including honey, beeswax, and pollen) all have anti-inflammatory properties. That scavenge free radicals and stimulate collagen. If those words mean nothing to you, then clearly you’re not yet at an age where you need to care. But you should!
And remember what was in the serum hair treat? Olive oil. It’s used throughout the entire line. I think it was @atruckerwife who first told me she uses olive oil on her skin and swears by it. And the flawless skin we seen on Mediterranean women must count for something, right?
As an example, here is the ingredient list for the Face & Eye Creme: Organic extra virgin olive oil, purified water, organic beeswax, organic honey, organic bee pollen, organic propolis, oil of rose, organic royal jelly, d-alpha Vitamin E, essential oils.
So there you have it… all natural ingredients, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, preservative-free, and cruelty-free. And most importantly, my skin feels great and looks pretty good (even though you maybe can’t tell in that awful bathroom lighting).
Just for the record: My experience is that new skincare products ALWAYS look good on your skin when you first use them. I’ve been using these products for 2 weeks to give my skin time to adjust and really see the results. The results? Me likey.
Oh, and I almost forgot. What fun is a review if you don’t get a chance to try the products for yourself?
