I have a confession to make. I used to wear mom jeans. The only problem is they weren’t called mom jeans. They were called “in style.”
That’s right. I’ve been alive long enough for high-waisted jeans to have actually been in style. I was around for acid washed jeans, pin striped jeans, and even pleated jeans. It was a dark time in our fashion history.
And this is why I take up the cause of fashion. The cause of helping women and moms everywhere understand that you don’t have to wear high-waisted jeans just because you’re on a budget or because you have hips that would put Beyoncé to shame.
I’ll admit that I don’t buy Seven Jeans. And I can admit that now that I actually know what Seven Jeans are. They are jeans that I really can’t afford and really couldn’t possibly fit into.
(And yes, I have plenty of friends that swear by them and tell me I just don’t get it because I’ve never had a pair of jeans that fit me like these can. Thanks, but I’d rather take my $150 elsewhere.)
So what’s a cheap frugal but somewhat stylish woman to do? Well, I decided to accept an offer to try on a new pair of jeans.
Levi’s is now taking its popular line launched in Asia last year and bringing it to the masses via Target. In the United States, you can now purchase dENIZEN jeans at all Target stores.
I mean, what were they thinking? Who shops at Target these days? Oh yeah, that’s right. We all do.
So let’s just see what you might like about some Asian-inspired Levi’s for only $24.99…
What did you think? I’m guessing you thought one of the following:
“Wait, did she have her pants off in that video?”
“I like big butts and I cannot lie.”
“Those are really hot shoes.”
“Wow, she’s a bit, ahem, bigger than I thought.”
“Did she just scar her son for life?”
Pretty much, all of those statements are true. So I’m not offended if you thought any of those.
What I would like to know, though, is what you think of the jeans? What’s your diehard brand and why? Would you give these a shot?
UPDATE: If you like Denizen America on Facebook, you can receive an offer for a rebate, a gift card, or even FREE jeans when you sign up on the Welcome page. Word.
Disclosure: I was provided a complimentary pair of dENIZEN jeans to review at my leisure.
