I’ve been on a not-so-secret mission these past few months. You see, I had a vision. Actually, it was a co-vision along with my partner, Heidi, to find a way for bloggers to use their voices to have an impact on and make changes in the world.
So I put it out there. I wanted to see if I was the only one that loved blogging about shoes and dresses and freebies, but still wanted something more out of my corner of the internet. And I asked you what you thought:
When writing that post, I really sat down, for the first time in my life, and cogently thought about the things I cared about. The things that really mattered to me and the things I would change if I could.
Then I asked you and you responded. I found that you not only have these huge hearts full of passion and a drive to make changes in the world, but you also have different ideas about what to change. Your answers varied touching on issues like healthcare, education, literacy, economic reform, human rights, and homelessness.
The time has finally come to keep it a secret no more.
So instead of rambling on about it here, I’m going to send you over to our brand-spanking new website to have a look around. If you’re in a hurry, here are the quick links you need to know.
We’re on Twitter and we plan to use it so please follow us there (@CharInfluence).
We’re also on Facebook and we’re up to 156 likes. Woo hoo! Stop over to see the pretty cover photo I made, drop us a like, and stay for some conversation.
BUT WAIT… we’re also getting started on Pinterest. We can’t be talking about saving the world without some visual effects!
Now, on to the site…
First of all, wait til you see two of our Founding Partners. They are kind of big deals and I’m really super thrilled and excited to be working with both of them because I think they do amazing things. Incidentally, they both love working with bloggers.
Speaking of working with bloggers, that’s where YOU come in.
We founded Charitable Influence to not only recognize the power and influence of bloggers but the generosity within the blogging community. It’s evident from your willingness to lend your voice to the causes that matter to you. What we hope for and will strive to provide is a reliable, honest, and resourceful community for bloggers to share, learn, grow and help each other as they navigate their individual paths and journey toward making change in the world.
I’d love for you to join our community. It takes only a few minutes to give us some information about you and, more importantly, about the causes you hold close to your heart.
And please be sure to tell you friends. We need all the blogging voices we can get. And if you have friends that aren’t bloggers but are still active in social media, we have a place for them too!
