You either love ’em or you hate ’em. Well, maybe that’s not quite right.
You either like ’em or you hate ’em. And I’m talking about Crocs.
Since you probably want to know where I stand, I personally like them. I don’t love them but I’m not part of the Croc haters club. And I did spend a ridiculously large amount of cash on a pair for my son last year. But to be fair, they change color in the sun. And he is an only child. I can be frivolous like that if I want.
But let’s be realistic. Crocs don’t really go with anything unless you are some half-hip, bohemian chic surfer dude that would equate real shoes to being part of “the establishment.”
So what’s a Croc-liker like me supposed to do if I want to stay semi-stylish and adhere to my standard rules that shoes should be cute AND comfortable?
Now that I’ve used the word “Crocs” enough times to possibly make Dansko hate me forever, it’s time I introduce you to a viable alternative.
It’s the Pippa. The Dansko Pippa
For those of you who still think Dansko simply makes big, chunky clogs, you apparently haven’t been reading my blog as much as you should. I traveled down to Disney last year just to show you part of their latest spring collection. I even gave a pair away to one of my lovely readers who happened to have the exact same good taste as I have.
This year, I’m totally going Pippa. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it’s also the name of a rather famous sister to a rather fashionable young princess who got married last year. I’m not sure if that Pippa would wear these Pippas but I will. And I don’t have to try to achieve any sort of royal style.
I got my brand new pair of royal blue Dansko Pippas in a few weeks ago . Wait – they are royal blue. Maybe I do have a regal fashion sense.
In any case, I put them on right away and headed outside because that’s what I was going to do anyway.
I started pulling some weeds and edging the yard and before I knew it I was mulching the entire front yard. In my new shoes.
It just felt right, though, because they kind of look like gardening shoes. And the best part was when I came in a took the shoes off, I had a lovely, lace-like pattern of dirt on my feet.
Final verdict?
1. Cute
2. Comfortable
3. Colorful
4. Don’t make my feet sweat
5. Not Crocs

I would choose magenta, and I’d wear them to work in the summer because we can’t wear open toe shoes, so no sandals, but I’m sure we could wear these!
I would choose the orange Pippas. Where would I wear them? I would love to wear them to work. I am a nurse and on my feet for quite a bit of the twelve hours. I wear leather clog Danskos to work and my feet feel great! Since they have holes, and holes in shoes aren’t “allowed” at work, I would wear my new Pippas after a running race. I’d keep them in the gear bag and after the race I’d take off my sweat socks and shoes and put those tired feet in the Pippas….relief!
I would choose pink, because pink is my signature colas! ; p and I would definitely use them to garden, then wash them off in the pool!
COLOR not colas! Darn you autocorrect!
I’d choose yellow and jump in puddles with my daughter. 🙂
Because I’m the most practical (read: boring) dressers ever, I’d choose black. And most likely I would wear them anytime I left the house. I tend to get stuck on one pair of shoes at a time until they fall slap apart.
Hmm, I too would choose the bright blue. As a former croc wearer (shhhhh), I would love such a shoe for going to the barn in warm weather to do my cow chores.
Oh Dansko, how I love thee.
GREEN. Chasing kids. Beach, park, backyard. Anywhere.
I would choose black…all of my shoes are black…they go with everything. These would be perfect summer shoes…look great with capris, shorts, sundresses….cute and very feminine 🙂
Yellow pippa! I have pink already, and they r my ‘summer’ danskos. I wear em everywhere when I’m wearing jeans. So I get to have my winter shoes for the summer now! 😀
I think I would go with yellow. I love that they are backless! I would keep them by the front door to run to the mailbox or out to the store for more ice cream 😉
I love the fuchsia ones. I live in flip flops year round but these look like a nice alternative… especially, running out the door to walk the pooches yet again. Just slip them on and out the door you go. Â
I’m torn between blue and yellow but if I had to chose I think I would go with blue. No, yellow. Wait, blue. ummmm
I have a feeling these would take the place of flip flops as part of my summer uniform
I’d choose black since most of my closet is black and because I think it might hide playground mulch the best.
I’d wear these all summer long to the playground with my kiddo.
I tweeted.
I’d take the pink or black ones and I’d wear them all the time… in place of my normal flip flops all summer.
I tweeted.

Red. Yes, red. I currently wear my Crocs to the pool 3x per week for Masters swim workouts, but I would gladly trade those tired old things in for a pair of Pippas!
I tweeted it, but I have no idea how to send you a link to my Twitter post. I am dumb.
I would choose the yellow pippa’s bc I think they would look cute with my jeans! I would wear them everywhere bc they are Dansko’s, my favorite brand of shoes!
Black–they look like great summer shoes for work!
I would choose the Pippa Magenta. I’m a Croc wearer, but in the summer I usually stick to flip-flops because I don’t like closed in shoes in the summer. These would be perfect to dress an outfit up a little, but still let some air in.

I think I would like the Magenta Pippas. I would probably wear them in the summer with some capris! They sure look like fun shoes to wear!
i’d get yellow b/c it is fun and summery. and i would probably wear them everywhere (as i do my “winter” danskos) so comfy.
