Sometimes, wine is about more than just drinking it.
Sometimes, it’s about finding the right way to bring out the best in a wine.
For example, red wines need to breathe, right? It’s why you’ll often see a good red wine poured into a decanter like you’ll see below.
Breathing simply means exposing it to air. Now, bear with me. I’m going to get a touch technical for a second.
By pouring the wine into a decanter, you maximize the surface area of the wine to allow for maximum aeration.
Still with me?
Okay, good. I knew all of this. I’ve been around wine for a while. But I learned something. White wines can be aerated too.
Yeah, you won’t catch me decanting a bottle of wine (for reasons I’ll explain in my video below) but you will catch me using the Vinturi white wine aerator.
Quick aeration for a single glass of wine. Now, was it a success for me?
Here’s how I look at it. I bought an inexpensive bottle of wine. The Vinturi enhanced the flavor but made me realize the flavor wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I plan to use it again and again. I just plan to buy better-tasting wine next time.
As I mentioned in the video, I bought a Vinturi for red wine years ago for my husband and I bought it because I sampled a demonstration in a wine store. I was sold immediately. So, when asked if I wanted to review a Vinturi, I almost said no (since I have one) but then, I discovered there are two other types.
First you have the Vinturi wine aerator for red wines (left) and the wine aerator for white wines (right).
But apparently, it improves the taste of spirits as well. That’s right. There a Vinturi spirit aerator. Personally, I usually stay away from the hard stuff but I would imagine if I enjoyed a smooth single malt Scotch, I’d be excited to find a way to make it taste even better.
So here’s your chance.
It’s Friday and last time I had real job, I seem to remember that being the start of the weekend. Let’s kick it off with a little conversation and a chance to win your choice of one of these babies.
I like to keep it short and sweet. No Rafflecopter for me but I will make it easy.
To enter, you need to do TWO things:
- Leave me a comment telling me what wine I was drinking in the video (brand or type of wine)
- Include in your comment if you’d want the RED, WHITE, or SPIRIT Aerator from Vinturi
Want a few more chances to enter?
