The year was 1987 and I had just been to a Dylan-Dead concert. (That’s Bob Dylan and the Grateful Deal for you youngsters). I wasn’t a deadhead nor did I aspire to be. I was just a young impressionable high school student finally getting a chance to taste a little bit of life, courtesy of my college-aged brother and sister.

There’s a bigger story there that is certainly worth telling sometime. But the story today comes from video. Because it’s a story I have to show and not just tell.

I’m answering the VlogMom prompt this week, courtesy of Heather at Cafe Smom (the heart of the blended family). She posed the question:

What is the oldest article of clothing in your closet? How long has it been there and why will you never get rid of it/still have it?

As you can probably guess, I have a beauty of a dress that dates back to 1987…

So tell me what’s hiding way back in your closet that you don’t dare wear (or maybe you do?) but refuse to ever get rid of.

And check out the other secret wardrobes of these fab vloggers.

    • I think our furniture is Stanley. We got it years ago and I loved it – until our dog recently chewed off the corner of each dresser and nightstand.

  1. THAT is fabulous! And as anyone that’s been to a Dead concert knows (yes – that includes me!) you don’t need to worry about shoes to wear with it!!
