I’ve always wanted to be a published author and now, I AM. But I can’t take all the credit. I was actually a co-author on an amazing project that was a collaboration between The Motherhood and the National Wildlife Federation (NWF).
I was approached a few months ago to contribute to a new e-book (eBook? ebook?) being published by the NWF. Working with The Motherhood, they invited a lot of awesome bloggers to contribute to the e-book including some of my faves.
Nature takes me to my happy place so getting a chance to write about something I already love was a no-brainer for me. My assigned section was Balancing Screen Time with Green Time, a perfect fit for a nature girl like me who is also immersed in the tech world. I wrote some content, sent in some pictures, and then they created a beautiful book with all of our content integrated together.
And now it’s ready for download!
Besides it being beautiful, the Be Out There ebook is chock full of ideas to help your kids embrace their inner explorer. Some of the other sections include: The Challenges to Getting Outside, Cool Activities for Hot Summer Days, Outdoor Time in Everyday Life, Nighttime Activities, and Celebrating Special Occasions in the Outdoors.
And the best news of all? It’s completely free for you to download. Right here. Right now.
Now, please excuse me while I download my copy and tear my son away from the 11th hour of Minecraft. I should be able to do that since I wrote the book on it, right?
More to come! Stay tuned for ideas that didn’t make the cut! Also, I’ve been compensated by The Motherhood for my participation in and contribution to this campaign. And I’m damn proud of it.

Thanks, Kenya! I figured out e-book is the way to go. Of course, we originally wrote e-mail so who knows!
