The easiest chai latte is the one you can make at home. If you’re a tea lover like me, you don’t like going out for tea anyway. And even if your home is dominated by coffee and K-cups, you can make this too.
My love of tea began in the most authentic way possible. I was staying with friends of a friend in a flat in London when they asked me if I wanted a cup of tea. Before that, I had only really had iced tea – something to this day that I’m still not fond of. It was that first sip from a fancy teacup of Lady Grey tea with a little milk and sugar that had me hooked.
That’s how tea was made to be drunk.
Shortly after that, I met my husband who was raised by his Irish mother. In their household, everything was done over a cup of tea. And my like for tea became a love for tea. All things tea.
All Things Tea
I drink loose leaf, herbal, black, green, flavored, etc. In the morning, it’s always a good strong cup of black tea made with my electric tea kettle and my favorite white mugs.
After a dinner party, I might break out the fancy teacups and saucers which is appropriate for the dining room. I’ll serve decaf Lady Grey tea along with fancy little sugar cubes.
But my favorite kind of tea is nice cup of chai tea with my son when he gets home from school, usually in our sunroom.
He loves a chai latte as much as I do and begged me to make him a cup of the new TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods after he saw my gift box.

And I couldn’t blame him because it looked so inviting. But in order to write about this new TAZO® product, I wanted the setting to be perfect. So I made him wait while we learned a little bit more about it.
Steeped in 5,000 years of Indian history, chai is a black tea blend that’s part sweet, part spicy, and one of our favorites. For the launch of this new product, TAZO® partnered with New York Times Bestselling author and host Padma Lakshmi. Tea and chai have always been a part of Padma ‘s life and family heritage and she is excited to celebrate the flavors of chai with TAZO®.
When I was looking through my gift box, I noticed Padma was calling to me with her included recipes of foods that pair nicely with chai latte. So I decided afterschool tea time would include the perfect snack, Sugar & Cinnamon Chips, and the perfect mug of tea, TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods, made from milk, tea leaves and spices.
Sugar & Cinnamon Chips
I happened to have “healthy” flour tortillas in the house and cut them into six wedges. I lightly fried them in canola oil and then shook them in a paper bag with sugar and cinnamon.
But the best part of my tea time was sitting down with my son after school, talking about his day, and enjoying a little afternoon pick-me-up.
Want to see how easy it is to make an authentic Chai Tea Latte at home with a Keurig® and the TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® pods?
How to Make the Easiest Chai Latte
It’s as simple as:
Step 1: Pour the sweetened dairy blend into your mug. We tried the Vanilla Caramel Latte and the Classic Latte. Evan preferred the former and I liked the latter.
Step 2: Place your mug on your Keurig®, insert the TAZO® pod, and use the 8 oz. water setting. Pro tip: My husband drinks a lot of coffee and I can’t stand it so I usually run a few cycles of water through the machine before making my tea.
Step 3: Stir, serve, and enjoy!
So I guess the best time for tea time is really anytime. But my favorite time is right after school when it feels like a treat!
