7 Cat Videos for People Who Totally Don’t Get Cats

They say that you are either a dog person or a cat person. Or maybe a nothing-at-all person. I happen to love both but if I had to align myself with either the canine faction or the feline faction, the cats would definitely win. They just get me and, in turn, I get them.

But you… you think cats are creepy or scary or just plain mean. Or perhaps you just don’t get cats. Now you will.

And while the advent of short form video has made it easy to watch a non-stop loop of cat clips (Lord knows I watch them), there are some classic cat videos on YouTube that should never be forgotten. Some of these cats have actually become internet icons, like Henri and Maru.

Of course, there are way more than 7 iconic cat videos but if you’re not a cat person, these are sure to maybe possibly get you to crack a smile. So please enjoy some of my favorite cat videos.

1 – Cats Meowing and Talking

If you think cats are a mystery, you just have to learn how to communicate with them. There’s a meow for every emotion and if you listen carefully, I bet you can tell the happy cats from the, um, not-so-happy cats.

2 – Cat Attacking the Printer

Cats are fierce defenders. When your favorite feline detects that you or your loved ones are under attack from an inkjet printer, his natural instincts come out to combat that inferior printing process.

3 – Cat Jumping in Slo Mo

Cats are epic jumpers. There is no unreachable spot for a cat. Whether it’s on top of the refrigerator or hiding in the rafters in the attic, they’ll find a way. They ALWAYS find a way.

4 – Cat Knocking Things Off (Thug Life)

The first rule of cats: Cats must knock things off of high places. Especially valuable things. For no apparent reason. It’s been scientifically proven.

5 – Cat in Small Boxes

Cats have a special relationship with boxes. We can’t explain it, but then again neither can they. Perhaps it’s a sort of self-imposed solitary confinement.

6 – Cat Speaking French

In case you never realized it, cats speak French. Which would explain a lot. Henri, the black cat—or le chat noir—shares his existential view on life. Ah, c’est la vie, Henri.

Sure, this one is actually a sponsored video, but it’s a damn fine video anyway. It’s actually part of a series worth checking out. And frankly, I find myself quoting these videos with my own cats!
