I’ve been working with Aventura Clothing for two years now to perfect my Aventura style and I’ve learned a couple of things along the way. I’ve learned about their clothes, my style, and how both are always evolving.
My winter selections from Aventura arrived long before the weather started to turn (early September) and I looked for any gust of wind as an excuse to showcase some of my new pieces. With Christmas Eve predicted to be 68 degrees, I’m still struggling with getting a grip on my winter style. Luckily, the pieces I’ve acquired from Aventura over the past two years always coordinate well and I often mix my Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter pieces, much as I do with the rest of my wardrobe.
On those few days where it’s been chilly, I’ve snapped a few pictures of some of my favorite pieces from the Aventura Clothing Fall/Winter line.
In September, I was able to attend the The Hotel Hershey Wine & Food Festival which happen to fall just a few days after my Aventura shipment arrived. The weather was beautiful. Perfect for an outdoor festival and just as lovely for the indoor bordeaux blending class we took. A great opportunity to try out the Kassel Scarf in Craisin, a scarf that rears its head frequently in my wardrobe.
October had me traveling frequently, mainly to warmer climates like Atlanta and Turks & Caicos, but not before I took a trip north of the border. I spent several days in the beautiful resort area of Blue Mountain for a conference. One of the activities I signed up for was a mountain hike. I brought the right shoes but didn’t prepare for the cold and the rain. We hiked anyway and I was so glad I had my Bergamo Infinity Scarf in Grey along with my one of my favorite Aventura jackets from a previous year.
Next came Halloween and yes, I incorporated Aventura in my costume.
I made a last minute decision to pay homage to my feline friends and dressed as a cat. Since the evening was chilly but not freezing, I wore a long sleeved black shirt paired with my Caserta Sweater in Phantom. Even though it’s only 5% wool my sensitive skin can’t handle touching it. Luckily, when paired with a long sleeved shirt, it was a great (and stylish) insulator!
But life is not all wine, trips, and Halloween. Sometimes I have to go into an office.
As a consultant, I need to dress professionally but I can’t stand stuffy clothes. So for one of meeting, I threw on the Blake Skinny Jean in Black Olive paired with black on top. And yes, I’m showing you my rear because women know that matters.
And then we head back to color for an event I had in downtown Washington, DC.
Oh, look. That Kassel scarf is back again but this time I paired it with my own sweater, some boots, and the Milbrae Skirt in Kelp. I absolutely love the Aventura skirts which typically come with wide waistbands and are designed for comfort.
Lest you think I’m done with red, hold on. There’s one more outfit that really pushed my sense of style this year.
Yes, it’s the Kassel Scarf again but I also went for a dress that Aventura often shows paired with leggings. I took the Cassie Dress in Chipotle (which I love because look at that dip-dyed bottom!) and paired it with some of my Aventura leggings from 2014. With or without the scarf, it’s a warm yet stylish way to say, “I can wear more than black and gray in the winter.”
