Stream of Consciousness Sunday: When the Sick Get Going

Technically, I’m on vacation this week. So I won’t be as responsive to all of your fabulous writing. But I still want you to write. And I’ll be checking! However, Disney World doesn’t have free wifi. I guess they think we should be out of the hotel room and off doing something. Maybe I’ll try that.

I’m leaving for Disney World. Its’ totally crazy. Since my husband started thinking about a new job, we’ve talked about talking some time off before he started working again. We talked exotic stuff. I haven’t renewed my passport yet and don’t have one for Evan. No cruises. No international stuff. Probably too expensive anyway. But we do need a getaway.

We toyed with going back to Disney World. We took Evan last year on a whim when my friend told me she was taking her family there in just a few weeks. She asked if I would tag along. Sean agreed. He AGREED! And it was perfect, She has an only child the same age as Evan.

This time, it’s just our little family of 3. I’m so excited for Evan. He’s four now and he’s over 40 inches. We’re taking him on some big rides. We decided yesterday. We leave tomorrow. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that I’m sick. Still sick. Even sicker. I’ve ever not had an antibiotic work for me. Until now. So I went back to the doctor and got a newer, stronger, more powerful antibiotic! And $200 later, I’m hoping to feel all better by the time we drive our sorry butts all the way down to FLorida. It’s okay. I usually am in denial about my sickness. I don’t let it hold me back. But I’m ahoping for some miraculous recovery in the car on the way down. If it doesn’t happen, I know the fairy dust or pixie dust or whatever will sprinkle over me and the Disney high will keep me going for the rest of the week.

  1. Hey, Fadra, hope your vacation is wonderful! How funny that my post is also about being ill and taking antibiotics. But this time I skipped the first course of lame-ass ones and asked for the big guns right off the bat.

  3. Yes, I know my 100 Days of School Celebration Ideas may seem A bit organized but I promise it was on my mind. Besides the cookies and the soup, most of these ideas came to me in the 5 minutes I was writing.

    Thanks for hosting,

  5. Have a fabulous time! We were there last March and I was like 23 weeks pregnant. Rosco really enjoyed it even though I was doing the “Let’s sit down on this bench” whiny thing every 20 minutes.

  6. I hope your vacation is everything that you hoped it would be. AND that you are feeling 1000% better. (yes that is ONE THOUSAND PERCENT) (I am an over-achiever of sorts)

AND… Thank you for hostessing this SOCS thing. It gives me new people to visit… and causes my brain to expand just a bit on a Sunday morning.

  8. Part of me really wants to take the kids to Disney. The other part of me would prefer to spend that money on an African safari. They are probably less likely to get eaten in Florida. Maybe.
