Stream of Consciousness Sunday

“I’m staring at a blank screen and I have no idea what to write about.”

This doesn’t happen to me often but it does happen. And it happens to nearly every other writer out there. When I had a mental block, I relied on an old college exercise from English Comp: free writing.

I sat down and wrote for 5 minutes. I wrote whatever popped into my head without regard for grammar, spelling, or even coherence. I accidentally published it, people loved the idea, and a meme was born.

stream of consciousness Sunday

Every Sunday, I host a “Stream of Consciousness Sunday” post and link-up. It’s fun to write and it’s fun to read. Sometimes some of my favorite posts come from the exercise. Stop by any Sunday and link up your stream of consciousness post.

      And you are??

Oh love the meme idea, but man this will be scary! I will use bad grammar, spelling errors….I have to proof my posts a few times before hitting the “PUBLISH” button…but I like it and I think this will help me. Most times I sit down and instead of just writing, I over analyze. Good idea :)

We started the meme today. I’m thinking about it more. 5 minutes is short! And it wasn’t that scary. Promise!

I just got terrified just thinking about doing this. I mean, it isn’t like the 4 people who read my blog don’t already know me, I guess. And it isn’t as if I don’t already do this for every post. (I call it “let’s just sit and babble for a while then give a weird conclusion”).

But, um, OMG HI! I see my NAME up there! I feel all internet famous and stuff!

As for Origins: I’d go back to using it, personally. It’s ok to change your mind. It sounds like they made up for it, yes?

Oooh, really like the idea of your meme. I like the idea of free flowing thought….though my posts will probably end up being random as hell.

I’m definitely participating for Sundays “MEEEEEEM!” Now, to pick what topic I want to write on…. that could be tricky :)

I LOVE your meme idea. It’s fabulous! I’ll definitely be participating as I can!

If you feel Origins made things right, then by all means go back to them.

I always knew you had VIP in you…
