If you’re looking to up your protein and need a little coffee boost, you’re going to love how easy and delicious this High Protein Iced Coffee is. Even for someone like me that hates coffee.

WHAT?!?

I know, I know. People cannot fathom that not only do I not drink coffee but I don’t actually like coffee. I don’t even generally like tiramisu or Kahlua because it’s coffee-flavored. So imagine my hesitation when Naked Nutrition (a brand I love) asked me if I wanted to try their new Naked Protein Coffee.

The rest of my family are coffee drinkers and we’re all working on upping our protein game so I ordered a sample to try. It comes in two flavors: Vanilla Latte and Mocha Latte. Since I’m not a huge chocolate fan either (I know, I know), I opted for Vanilla hoping it might be a mild flavor we could all enjoy.

The packaging met all of my macro needs:

Two scoops of the Naked Protein Coffee provides 3g fat, 9g carbohydrates (including 5g sugar), and a whopping 20g of protein – all for 140 calories.

Why I like Naked Nutrition so much is their ingredients – they use no artificial additives. Their protein is grass-fed whey from small dairy farms and their sweeteners are coconut sugar and fermented cane sugar.

But there was the one big elephant in the room. It IS coffee! In fact, it uses Colombian coffee in the mix. Each serving (two scoops) is the equivalent to one cup of coffee, or about 95 mg of caffeine.

It’s more caffeine than I’m used to and definitely more coffee than I’m used to but I was thinking the caffeine fix might help me as a pre-workout drink to give me a little boost at the gym. So I set about to make this a delicious smoothie in the same way I’ve been making my Ella Daily Beauty Protein Powder drinks (also from Naked Nutrition).

The key to a good smoothie is the right equipment. We’ve been using a Vitamix blender that my husband bought (unbeknownst to me) for $400. And this was over 15 years ago! Although I didn’t appreciate the purchase at the time, I’ve come to love my blender! Thankfully, there are much more affordable Vitamix options and I’m telling you, THIS BLENDER IS WORTH IT.

To make this High Protein Iced Coffee, you’re basically going to dump everything into a blender and, well, blend. That’s it! Here’s how it’s done.

Start with 10 oz. of milk, instead of water. Not only does it make for a creamier drink, it’s a natural complement for coffee. I use Fairlife milk because it’s filtered to provide low sugar (lactose) and high protein. Fat is important in my diet so I usually use 2% or whole milk but if you compare the labels, there isn’t a huge difference.

Add one serving (two scoops) of your Naked Protein Coffee. Then add just a few cubes of ice (. Blend until creamy, pour, and serve!

I told you it was the easiest!

This is technically one serving but I usually don’t want to drink that much so I split it with my husband. He’s a coffee drinker and he loves it.

But I’m not a coffee drinker, so what about me?

The coffee flavor is very mild and the vanilla flavoring is natural. So what’s not to love? A creamy, high protein drink that gives me the boost of a half a cup of coffee when I need it.

If you’re looking for more creative ways to add protein to your diet and want an extra kick of caffeine, the Naked Protein Coffee is a mild flavor to be enjoyed even by us non-coffee drinkers.
