NYC, Celebrities, and a Good Cause (NOW with PICTURES!)

It started out like any other typical Wednesday.

Get glammed up. Hop on a train. Head to NYC.

Take a cab to Central Park.

Hang out with celebrities.

I mean, isn’t that how your typical Wednesday goes?

But I can’t brag about celebrities unless I show them to you. (And tell you why I got to meet them).

There was the lovely Bridget Moynahan who, by the way, is very tall. One of my friends told me her sister-in-law played soccer with her. So, Bridget, if you’re reading this (and I’m sure you are a frequent visitor to my blog), Mindy Gerstein says hi.

Then came Molly Sims who was very warm and welcoming and gave lots of interviews. Let me just say she looks GREAT for her age (she’s older than you think).

This is Nigel Barker. I had no idea who he was. Apparently he’s a judge on America’s Next Top Model (which would explain why I don’t know who he is) but he was nice eye candy and his son (at the very bottom of the picture) looked like a mini-me of him!

Another warm, friendly, and BEAUTIFUL face. Garcelle Beauvais was there with her gorgeous family. And fun fact – she’s from Haiti. I did not know that.

Then came this celebrity…

She was awesome and friendly but could have used a little more make up.

Okay, okay. That was me. Before the celebrities arrived. A girl can still dream, right?

And then there was Alexandra Wentworth, also known as Ali Wentworth, also known as Mrs. George Stephanopoulos. She was charming, delightful, easily flattered, not too easily offended by my  foot-in-mouth questions, and she tweeted me this morning.

I’m really hoping this means I’ll be invited to her next dinner party.

And then finally, the star of the show.

I had a chance to talk to Jessica Seinfeld for quite a bit. And while I heard other reporters asking about her summer plans with the kids (to which husband Jerry said “play video games”), I asked more about her challenges as a mom and what led her to start her charity, Baby Buggy, which was the real reason we were all there.

Johnson & Johnson was the lead sponsor for the annual family fundraiser event called the Baby Buggy Bedtime Bash. It was held at the Victorian Gardens in Central Park and was an opportunity for New Yorkers to bring their families to enjoy an afternoon in the park, get to know some sponsors, and help a charity that focuses on providing for families in need.

The Johnson & Johnson focus was on keeping kids safe in the sun. Every child that came to the booth got to spin the wheel, do a crazy stunt, and earn a goody bag complete with a beach ball, Neosporin, BAND-AIDS, and Neutrogena Wet Skin Kids sunscreen.

Unfortunately, I grabbed a bag that had Hello Kitty BAND-AIDS in them so I’m sure I’ll be using them for my own ouches.
