If you’re looking for an Active-PK review, it helps to know exactly what you’re looking for in a supplement before assessing if this one is right for you. Then, you need to spend a few months on the supplement to give it time to works its magic (or not). Once you know your goal and have given it time to work, you’re in a better position to know if it’s effective for you.
For me, I learned what was best about Active-PK after I stopped taking it.
What Active-PK offers
I started taking Active-PK supplement because it was touted as offering some of the following:
- Benefits of intermittent fasting without skipping meals!
- Thanksgiving pants in a bottle!
- Beat cravings and reduce stubborn belly fat!
- Turn excess body fat into energy!
Honestly, all of those claims checked boxes for me. I do tend to accumulate body fat in my belly area. And while I had tried intermittent fasting for several months and knew the benefits of it, it was too hard for me to adhere to and didn’t really produce any weight loss benefits.
But as I get older, I know that my body chemistry changes and it can help to supplement with things that ingredients to make my body work more efficiently.
Taking Active-PK for several months
I was given several complimentary bottles of Active-PK (probably 3-4 months worth) and took two capsules religiously every day.
It’s actually really hard to review a supplement. You want to give something a positive review but you get stuck in a suggestive loop. I think I feel a little thinner. I think I maybe lost a pound or two. I think I feel less hungry. I think my pants fit a little better.
You try to convince yourself that it must be doing what it says it’s supposed to do.
Here’s the honest truth about my experience with Active-PK.
I have never had more energy in my life.
It wasn’t until my supply of Active-PK ran out that I could emphatically say what benefit it provided me. Because once I stopped taking it, I could feel the difference.
I’m normally up at 6:30am every morning (which is really hard for me because I am soooooo not a morning person). I have one cup of black tea in the morning, eat lunch around 1pm, eat dinner around 6pm, and head to bed around midnight.
Where do I start dragging in my day? I DON’T.
Getting up is hard but once I’m up, I’m UP. And I stay up until I’m tired. That’s usually not until midnight. I’m not just staying up because I have too much to do (which I usually do). It’s because I have the energy to do it.
Once I stopped taking Active-PK, I noticed that my energy levels were down and I was getting tired much earlier in the day. And I also felt the drag of the afternoon, often needing a second cup of tea.
What gives me the energy?
As you can tell, I’m not a coffee drinker. I like a good strong cuppa in the morning but I find I’m really sensitive to caffeine. It doesn’t make me feel awake. It just tends to make me feel lightheaded with a fast heartbeat (if I have too much of it).
That’s why the ingredients of Active-PK were important to me. These are the main ingredients in LCR Health Active PK:
- Gynostemma pentaphyllum leaf extract
- Quercetin dihydrate
- Berberine HCI
Active-PK also includes: rice flour, hypromellose, and vegetable stearic acid.
Gynostemma pentaphyllum leaf extract (also known as Jiaogulan) is an adaptogenic herb similar to ginseng and is used in traditional Chinese medicine. Anecdotally, it’s been noted to have positive effects on diabetes, obesity, and stress.
Quercetin dihydrate is a highly effective form of quercetin, a pigment found in fruits, vegetables, and grains. It’s beneficial as an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and can even help with blood pressure and allergy symptoms.
(Note: this supplement has also been in the news as being effective in helping combat viruses – even THAT virus).
Berberine HCI is also a plant-based supplement known as an alkaloid, deriving from a group of shrubs called Berberis. Also used in Chinese medicine, this is the ingredient that activates AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase—an energy sensor that regulates all aspects of cell function). This is also known as the “metabolic master switch.”
It’s suggested that taking Active-PK supplement on a regular basis can do a lot of things. But the bottom line for me is that it did boost my metabolism. What my metabolim does with that boost is another story.
I still have belly fat, but admittedly my diet isn’t the greatest. However, I haven’t gained weight. I’ve actually lost about 6 pounds since June and kept it off. My appetite is smaller. And more importantly, it gives me a tremendous amount of natural energy.
The only problem is that I’m out. And now that I’m out, I realize how effective it’s been for me. Time to reorder!
