Have you ever asked the question of your friends, what’s a good show to watch? Or more specifically, when you’re talking about Netflix, what’s a good show to BINGE watch?
I have a confession. I am NOT a binge watcher. I’m a two, maybe three, episode person at most. I just don’t have the attention span for it. I get bored with TV, even really good TV.
Back to my original question… when your friends recommend a show for you to watch, do you happily give it a try or do you wrinkle up your nose at their suggestion and wonder how you could be friends with someone that watches that show?
I’m somewhere in the middle. I have to trust my friends. I have to know their likes and dislikes. And more importantly, I have to know what their sense of humor is like.
So when some of my respected friends got a little too excited over the new Netflix show Fuller House, I broke down and gave in and watched the first episode. Surprisingly, I didn’t hate it. I didn’t love it but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. But when the second season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt started on Netflix, I realized this was my show.
So if you are stuck considering which of these two shows might be right for you, I’ve invented a little quiz to help you out.
1. Which decade did you primarily grow up in?
a. 1990s
b. 1980s
2. In what city does Fuller House take place?
a. San Francisco
b. New York
3. In what city does Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt take place?
a. San Francisco
b. New York
4. Who would you rather go clubbing with?
a. Stephanie – she’s a DJ and she’s hot!
b. Titus – he’s a gay man in NYC!
5. Carol Kane originally rose to fame during what TV series?
a. Who the hell is Carol Kane?
b. Taxi, of course!
6. Which Olsen twin is your favorite?
a. Sometimes Mary-Kate, sometimes Ashley. It depends on my mood.
b. Who the hell are the Olsen twins?
7. What fashion trend are you willing to re-embrace?
a. Fanny pack
b. Scrunchie
8. Do you often watch movies on Lifetime or Hallmark?
a. Of course! I love Candace Cameron Bure!
b. Are you kidding me? Okay, maybe once at my cousin’s house but only because it was a Christmas movie.
9. Who’s the best host for America’s Funniest Home Videos?
a. Bob Saget (but Alfonso Ribeiro is a close second)
b. Tom Bergeron
10. How do you feel about “very special” episodes?
a. It gives me great inspiration to talk about meaningful topics.
b. Only if there’s nudity involved.
So, if you haven’t figured it out, if you picked mostly As, then Fuller House might be the right show for you. If you picked mostly Bs, then come on along to the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt fan club (although we all know Titus is the real star of the show).
And if you still aren’t convinced, here are a few Kimmylicious quotes to tempt you:
“2090 called. You’re dead and you wasted your time on Earth.” – Kimmy
“I hope someday when you’re a gay black man you have a Kimmy that treats you like this!” – Titus
“You think the Reverend Martin Luther King wanted to wear a bikini and put on angel wings and gyrate on the “gay pride parade” float? Foop! I’m mixing up my struggles.” – Titus
“I still believe the world is good, that bunnies are nice, and snakes are mean, and that one day Sandra Bullock will find someone who deserves her.” – Kimmy

Love Kimmy!! This is super fun 🙂
PEEEENottttt!!
Fadra Fadra Fadra! You’re breaking my heart! Kidding ….Well my old-ness has officially been confirmed! I grew up in the 70s! So I don’t even fit in your survey!! LOL But I do love FH. Never watched it as a “kid” bc I was working full time after going to school during the day ( college) Then I had a “real” job and Fridays nights were mainly reserved for friends or to decompress on my own…..FH was not really on my radar. BUT my kids…now 13 and 15 ………grew up with it on DVD and I found myself LOVING it. I know it’s cheesy. But I do love it.
Even though I’m too old for Kimmy ( kidding!) I’m def checking it out my friend.
I stop by often but just never leave a comment…so HI THERE and take care.
“See” you soon!

Well, I grew up in the 70 AND 80s. I just don’t have the nostalgic feeling about Full House that so many others do. I thought it was super cheesy, and yet, somehow I think I must have seen every episode!
Kimmy is definitely not for a young crowd but it is for an odd sense of humor so definitely not for everyone. But I have an odd sense of humor so it works for me 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I’m glad you’re here!!
Hilarious! Both are SO GOOD!
I think you’re half right! 😀
We are fuller house all the way!
I’m sorry to hear that! 😉
