The Good News and Bad News about the Shark Rotator Vacuum

There are two camps of people, I’ve learned. Those that love to vacuum and those that don’t. I happen to fall into the former category for reasons I can’t entirely explain. I have no real domestic skills or desires but I somehow find vacuuming, painting, and cleaning windows all extremely gratifying.

image001Even though I’m well equipped with vacuum technology, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to review the new Shark® Rotator® Powered Lift-Away® for just some of the reasons listed below:

  • Super swivel steering and strong suction that makes it feel almost self-propelled
  • Powerful LED headlights on the nozzle and handle so you can really see all that dirt that you thought wasn’t there
  • Fingertip Controls for easy transitions between hard floors, carpet and area rugs (no bending is probably best at my age)
  • Bare floor attachment that vacuums AND dusts
  • Extra-long 30 foot power cord so I barely have to unplug

So if all of this is so awesome, what’s the bad news? There’s plenty of it.

The Good News

After years of marriage, I finally convinced my husband to get rid of his old maroon canister vacuum (which I hated).

The Bad News

With the right configuration of the Shark Rotator, that old canister vac is back. (I’m an upright kinda girl, all the way).

Shark Rotator Vacuum

The Good News

This vacuum is so all-in-one convenient that I’ll never need my husband’s help vacuuming!

The Bad News

My husband doesn’t ever vacuum (he’s one of those that prefers laundry to vacuuming – sick, I know).

The Good News

The suction is so strong that the pet hair, dirt, and God knows what else gets sucked up with ease.

The Bad News

So did a paper towel, a fabric softener sheet, a dog ball, and my son’s sock (the sock didn’t survive).

The Good News

My friends, family, and neighbors are envious of my new vacuum and it’s super versatility.

The Bad News

I don’t make any commission if they go out and buy one.

The Good News

The Shark Rotator cleans so well that I really don’t even need a housekeeper anymore!

The Bad News

I never had a housekeeper to begin with.

My messy kitchen

(That’s a real photo of my real kitchen)

The Good News

I now have no problem getting into every single crack, crevice, baseboard, corners, and other odd spaces in my house.

The Bad News

OMG, I had no idea my house was this dirty.

And finally, let’s end on some really good news which is… I made a video so you can see all the good news for yourself, including how to configure this vacuum in at least four ways, and just how dirty all four floor surfaces in my house really are.

The Shark® Rotator® Powered Lift-Away®  was provided to me to facilitate this review. All statements and opinions are mine. This vacuum of awessomeness is available at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $299-$349. To learn more about Shark’s latest vacuum innovation, visit www.poweredliftaway.com.

  1. Love your video. 🙂 I have been in the market for a new vacuum for *far* too long, but haven’t been able to find one that I like that can do carpet, wood, stairs, tile easily. Til now! Thanks for posting, Santa knows what to get me now!
