A LARABAR might look like every other “health car” at the grocery store. But this one is special! If you happen to follow a Whole30 plan, this bar will be everything to you!
When this year started, I was ready to shed some of my baggage. And by baggage, I meant the extra 10 pounds that generally hangs around my midsection. So I signed on to spend 30 days following the Whole30 plan.
I didn’t think about it or ponder it. I just started and did it. And the longer I did it, the easier it became. But I kept kind of quiet about it because posting about eating healthy all the time is kind of the same as the person who posts selfies with captions like OMG, I can’t believe I ran 10 miles in new record time!
I mean, I salute you. I congratulate you. But really, you’re just reminding me that I can’t even run a mile. Yet.
Eating well is a commitment and even though my 30 days are over and you might have seen a beignet or two pop up in my Instagram feed, I’m generally eating cleanly.
See? Here’s one of my first dinners after I returned from a somewhat indulgent Disney cruise.
I’ve definitely carried my healthy habits over and I’m still relying on my favorite snack bar, LARABAR.
When I mentioned them last time, I was simply telling you how much I love them and how they are made from fruit and nuts AND THAT’S IT (mostly). And they’ve been a perfect go-to snack for me and my son while we’re getting into this healthy groove. And most of the LARABAR flavors are Whole30-compliant.
And again, to prove to you how much I love them, I snapped this picture the other day at the grocery store to show some friends that I was taking a little “me time” in the form of a Starbucks London Fog Latte with almond milk and the lemon LARABAR. I parked my grocery cart and sat right down in the “marketplace” – that abandoned little eatery area that I always thought was such a waste of space and wondered if anyone ever sat there.
Yes, I took a break at the grocery store.
(P.S. Did you notice it’s gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and non-GMO?)
So imagine my delight when LARABAR reached out to me and said, hey, we noticed you liked LARABAR and we’d love to send you a bunch of our flavors to try.
That’s it. No requirement. No “please review.” No “where’s your post about us?”
But I love LARABAR so much that I wanted to share more of their goods and I wanted to spread what I’m calling the LARAlove.
LARABAR Flavors
Look what they sent! Here are the seven flavors we had a chance to try:
- Pecan Pie
- Cashew Cookie
- Coconut Cream Pie
- Banana Bread
- Cherry Pie
- Blueberry Muffin*
- Apple Pie
*All are Whole30 approved except Blueberry Muffin but only because it uses vanilla extract
Now I know you’re sitting on the edge of your seat wondering what these delightful bars must be like. Or you have a million burning questions like:
So does a Cherry Pie actually taste like a cherry pie? Does the Banana Bread taste like banana bread? What exactly do they put in these bars? And are they any good? Will my kids eat them?
Relax. I’ve answered all your questions along with the help of my assistant (who’s there to show what kids really think of the LARABAR).

I know it sounded like a commercial for LARABAR but that’s just what happens when I naturally fall in love with a product and want you to love it too.
