Sometimes, the political season surrounding a major campaign makes you want to cry. And sometime you actually do cry. But I prefer for those tears to come from laughter. Because if you can’t laugh at two men vying for the top position in this country, I don’t know who you can laugh at.
So I’d love to write a really humorous piece. And by the end of that piece, you’d be shaking your head saying, “Mittens, I love your aged witticisms” or “Oh, Barack. You slay me.”
But I just don’t think I can deliver that. And the good  news is, I don’t have to.
Because I’m finding plenty of people out there who create perfectly timed, smartly written opinion pieces with just a touch of humor. Â But you won’t find links to any of that here.
Instead, I decided to simply recycle my favorite non-partisan and even bipartisan political humor videos out there. Most are pretty ridiculous. Which is why I’m posting them.
If there’s one thing I know we can agree on, it’s reaching across the aisle to make fun of the election process.
Let’s start with a little bit of education on the origins of the two party system here in the good ol’ US of A. Sound like a history lesson?
Maybe. But I never had a lesson in school titled Why the Republicans Have No Heart (And Democrats Have No Balls)
Did you notice the heart and balls were the exact same shape? Maybe if one of the parties simply turns its head, we’d all see things from the same perspective.
Or are politics really all just a game?
Well…
Some of it. A video game to be exact.
Take, for example, the party nominations for their respective Presidential candidates.
A little creative editing and some some songify and you’ve got the Patriot Game – Obama vs Romney video game!
Finally, one of my recent favorites comes from the site Bad Lip Reading where the genius behind it claims “I put words into other people’s mouths.”Â
The words he puts into the mouths of Obama, Romney, and moderator Jim Lehrer during the first Presidential debate makes it sound like they were all high. And yet, oddly enough, I found this version much more enjoyable than the real thing.
And for those of you that are simply scrolling through the post because you’re too scared to watch the videos (for fear of anything that might offend you – I promise, they’re harmless) or you don’t have the patience to watch any of the videos, I’ve got a little something just for you.
IT’S POLITICAL POOPERS!
Yes, you too can choose the bobble head of your liking and enjoy having him poop out candy at your discretion.
I can’t really think of the right occasion when you might want these but I can say that they are safe for ages 3 and up. But good luck explaining them to your little kids.

Now see how fun politics can be? You just have to know where to look.
I can laugh at just about anything out there but I do take the upcoming election quite seriously. If you’re an undecided voter, stop back this week as I share my political viewpoints on who I’m voting for and who I’m voting against.Â

I love you for the laugh today. And I love you even though I know we don’t agree politically. Also, can my Republican husband come and live with you just until November? He’s kind of a slob but at least won’t fight with you about EVERYTHING! oy. xo
You mean you don’t agree on politics? You silly woman. You need to listen to your husband and obey him. Or else he’s going to put you back in that binder 🙂
Send him my way! We have plenty of room!
The lip reading one is quite possibly my favorite thing EVER pre-election. Love it! Need to check out that first one, have not seen it before.
It is SO spot on. I think my favorite is Obama telling Romney he’s black. Because if that was true, that might change everything 🙂
I think they could just skip the debate tonight and broadcast the Eye of the Sparrow video instead. It would be great.
Bad Lip Reading is my favorite!
That’s okay, Mr. President – I don’t want to touch sandpaper either.
I will never be able to look at Jim Lehrer the same way.
