An Anglophile is a person who admires England, its people, and its culture. Its antonym is Anglophobe.

First, let me say that I had no clue there was such a thing as an anglophobe, which is basically dislike of or fear of the English or England. Personally, I consider myself an Anglophile. I love all things English. Or, well, all the English things that matter.
I like a good cup of strong black tea, those cute red telephone booths, Burberry scarves, British accents, London, fish and chips, Big Ben, the Beatles, Indian food, a good pub, Wensleydale cheese, and a nice overcast day.
There. I said it. I like rainy days and foggy days. Sure, I need sunshine now and then but I don’t really mind the English weather, especially when you’re dressed appropriately for it.
What makes the perfect rainy day outfit? Ask the British. They should know.
It starts with a rain jacket, like this gorgeous Joules Women’s Waterproof Hooded Jacket in French Navy.
Light enough for a summer shower and warm enough for a cool spring rain (or on a sunny winter day like when I took this photo!). Quality buttons and a zipper keep the rain out and the soft jersey lining makes it comfortable on the inside. And? This fancy pants jacket is 100% cotton and machine washable.
And what’s the other British essential on a rainy day (or a soggy winter’s day?) Wellies! More specifically, Joules Womens Mid-Calf Rain Boot Wellies in Red Wallpaper Floral.
Short for “Wellington boots” made popular by the Duke of Wellington, these 100% rubber boots have a nice tread pattern for mucking about and they’re cold weather resistant which means I don’t have to save them for the mud puddles of spring. And could this pattern be any more adorable? (Yes, I picked out my boots to coordinate with my jacket – what of it?)
Even Roscoe liked my Wellies.
The only thing I need now is a good cup of tea and rain shower and I’m ready to embrace my inner anglophile.
Want to know more about this fabulous look? It comes courtesy of Joules, a British company that’s been satisfying its customers for over 25 years. Instead of keep their fabulous British style and quality to themselves, they offer a whole line right here in the USA (I guess they’re not mad about the King George thing anymore).
Check them out at JoulesUSA.com where you’ll find quality unlike anything I’ve seen in a long time. AND I just so happened to notice that the exact boots I picked are on sale for $42.00.
My fab scarf from Aventura Clothing coordinates perfectly for the outfit!
And look! A rainy day style works even on a sunny day.
What’s your weather preference and does it affect your wardrobe choice?

but of all things British, you love me most 😉
I don’t know, Nicole. You’re a bit of a mutt, aren’t you? I love you no matter what country you hail from. xo
Purebred darling … born on British soil with two full blooded Brits as parents;)
