It’s springtime is most parts of this hemisphere. That means the snow has melted. Flowers are blooming and the spring wardrobe is rearing its head. If you live in the South, your summer wardrobe might be calling your name as well.
It’s been unseasonably warm and that brings me to my yearly quandary of what to wear when it might be warm or it might be cool. And so I’ve been re-examining my closet and wondering what I need more of. Then it happened…
Fresh Produce clothes asked me a few weeks ago if I might be interested in reviewing an item of their clothing. Umm, that’s like putting a kid in a candy store. I immediately checked out their website (ad nauseum) and I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant.
I know that sounds crazy but I looked at their spring clothes and saw an awful lot of pastels. For the record, I don’t do pastels. Ever. I saw some casual clothes and I was a bit alarmed by some of the prints. I’m really not a print girl. And I wasn’t sure if this was going to work. But I started to look at some of the beach dress and thought, I see some earth tones. I KNOW I can find something.
So I picked a dress that would work for the cooler days of spring, perhaps with boots and a cardigan, and would also work for the warmer says of summer with some sandals and fun earrings. And voila… my selection was the Twist Front Dress.
It’s gorgeous, right? I love any dress in black and with the turquoise jewelry, it was totally my style.
But I just couldn’t bring myself to pick another black dress. So I looked at the TWENTY-THREE color choices, including pastels (yuck), and settled for Olive.
I’ll be honest. This dress retails for $79 so I had high aspirations for it. And from the moment I opened the package, I could feel the quality of the dress. It was a bit wrinkled from shipping but I was too lazy to do anything about it so I put the dress on and decided to go out the town with my hot date.
What did you think? Yeah, I know the whole blogger meetup thing is a crazy, loud time but so much fun. The dress was perfect for the evening. Casual but fun and I got to show off my Allora Handmade necklace AGAIN!
The only thing I would be aware of. For women like me, that may be a bit endowed…
It definitely showed off some of my more feminine features.
It’s a totally comfortable dress and very high quality. It wrinkles easily but that’s simply because of the material (92% rayon, 8% lycra). It also was a little clingy in my midsection but as I mentioned in the video, that’s more of a midsection problem than a dress problem. I also loved the 3/4 sleeve because, in my book, that makes this a three season dress.
My only downside? The price is a little high for a bargain shopper like me. I like deals: that doesn’t mean cheap; that means high quality at good prices. In the future, I’d be more inclined to purchase from their sale selection because knowing how good the quality is makes me know what a bargain those prices are.
Note for my international readers: Fresh Produce now ships to over 200 countries, so women outside the US can enjoy the colorful styles, too.
Disclosure: Yep, I got a free dress out of the deal. Fresh Produce Clothes sent me a clothing item of my choice to review. The opinions expressed are entirely my own but I will say they were extremely helpful in helping me make a selection to ensure I got a product that fit!

Can’t really tell the dress is olive! But it looks like a nice dress, I’ll have to go over and peruse their site. And like you? I’m all about good quality at a decent price! I always hit the sale area first…
They have some decent sales. I’m usually sold after one purchase because then I know the type of quality I’ll get!
You look beautiful in the dress! I love 3/4-length sleeves as well — I definitely get more use out of my clothes that have that sleeve length. Thanks so much for sharing this review! 🙂
Aww, that’s SO sweet! This is definitely a 3 season dress!
You looked great in the dress, and the necklace was perfect.
I love that necklace. I seriously think I want one in every color! And the dress too 😉
Love the dress. It’s right up my alley. But I wouldn’t spend $79 on it either.
Here’s the word to remember: S-A-L-E second only to my favorite word: C-L-E-A-R-A-N-C-E
I could see myself actually buying that! Looks like it would flatter a mama!
Oh yes. I love the empire waisted dresses that flair out. Maybe someday I’ll wear something tight fitting!
I have that EXACT @allorahhandmade:twitter necklace—got it at Blissdom, but mine is navy. The dress is so pretty on you and it does look comfy. Your date was pretty cute, too!
😉
I got mine at BlissDom too. I was thisclose to buying the yellow one. I might just need to buy more. LOVE them!
It’s super cute on you. I love the necklace you paired with it. Twerk it! =)
Thanks 😉
Love you in that dress. It looks great and that’s my favorite style from the sleeves, to the length, to the boobs. Now about the boobs… the problem I usually have with that style is having to pull it back together like if I’ve reached to hug someone or something like that. Did it stay together? I can’t ever quite master a safe safety pin or invisible for that matter and a camisole just takes away from it.
I know EXACTLY what you mean and that’s why I usually can’t wear a wrap dress. But this dress hugged me if you know what I’m saying. There was nothing peeking out and I had FULL confidence (get it?) 🙂
Well I believe you have sold me a dress. I will try very hard not to get black. 😉
