Fear not, my friends. I have seen the forecast. I am living in that forecast.
It’s officially Spring. We’ve seen the daffodils blooms. We’ve felt the sun on our faces. We’ve made it through winter. We’re ready to cast off the heavy sweaters and gloves and scarves and coats. We’re ready to pack up our snow gear for a while.
And then we get a weather report like this:
If it’s not snowing where you are, it’s drizzling. And it’s probably cold. Heck, I live in the South and here’s what my weather looks like:
But do not abandon hope that Spring is right around the corner. I wanted to remind you of my very own weather just 2 years ago. Almost exactly 2 years ago. It was a freak March snowstorm. We happened to be excited because we hadn’t had any snow all winter. And it was the first time my son really was able to go play in the snow.
This is what we woke to one March morning.
Believe it or not, I had to teach my son the joy of snow. You just PLAY in it!
Then, my husband, who should have been an engineer, insisted we had perfect snowman snow. And he proceeded to make a mammoth snowman.
And as quickly as the snow came, it left. By the next weekend, we were wearing shorts. But not before we said goodbye to our snowman.
Fare thee well, my snow friend. Until Mother Nature graces us with her white dusting again.
Sunshine is delicious,
rain is refreshing,
wind braces us up,
snow is exhilarating;
there is really no such thing as bad weather,
only different kinds of good weather.

Ah yes, I remember last year’s snow…cause we also played in it! Alas, I am ready for the rain to wash the pollen away and the temps to be comfy before the heat of summer pounces upon us!
Yes, I was hoping the cool wetness might do something to help with the allergies. See? There’s a silver lining to every cloud.
We have had unusually cold and rainy weather here in CA for the end of March. I am tired of it. I heard it is supposed to be sunny and 80 by Thursday though. Yipppeeee!! Oh, and your poor snowman! I love the series of pictures that captured his melt!

I thought California is supposed to be mild and temperate?? Makes you appreciate the warmer weather though 🙂
I know it’s Spring and I know warm weather is coming, I’m just impatient and I want it now. Now, now, now, now!!!
Love the pictorial demise of the snowman.
I got a nice taste of Spring. We were actually wearing shorts last weekend 🙁
we have finally, at 3:07pm hit 31 degrees… although with the 4mph winds and wind chill it feels like 26 degrees… which is, in fact, better than the 22 degrees (real feel 11 degrees) that it was when I arrived at work at 8am… we’re supposed to hit a high of 35* at 5pm… before dropping again, but hey – it’s only supposed to get down to 20* by 3am and no snow is in the immediate forecast, so I should be thankful… right. right?? ah funk.who am I kidding? this sucks. I’m sooo ready for spring to arrive… SOON. 😉
Global warming?? Nah. But we’re soooo ready for spring.
It is 52 and overcast here in the lovely suburbs of Seattle. We had the usual rain this winter and the usual rain the first few weeks of spring….
Could you please make it just a touch warmer? I’ll be heading to Seattle on Thursday!
That last picture? Awesome!
I am right in the middle of all that green rain you see on the map in Florida right now.
I love spring! It makes me feel all new and fresh. That rain in your forcast above has been right on top of me too. We really needed it because of the fires but it’s as much of a downer as the cold to me. My blood pumps strictly Florida hot with a touch of breeze. I do love your pic’s of your snowman though. Since I’ve never seen “real” snow they were pretty cool to me.
