I finished month 2 of the Shaklee 180 program.
Have I lost more weight? Yes.
Have I lost more inches? Yes.
Will I tell you how much? No.
BECAUSE THAT WOULD DEFEAT THE PURPOSE OF MY BIG REVEAL TOMORROW.
I’ve decided to do this real regular-like every month. Each month, I’m going to show you a video diary on a Thursday. I’ll reveal personal, intimate details of my life and diet. Or not. And then on a Friday, I’ll post all the embarrassing and revealing pictures and results and you can see if I actually remembered to brush my hair this time. (Spoiler alert: I didn’t)
So instead of a heartfelt video this month, I’m bringing you a little kitchen how-to video. I’m talking about the Shaklee 180 Smoothee – the core of the program. Because I already know you’re thinking, yeah, I don’t want to do a diet where I actually have to drink my meals.
And to that I say, WRONG, SIR. WRONG.
You don’t know how to make a good smoothie is all. So I’m going to show you.
Or I was going to show you and then the video was 11 minutes long. So I edited it down to 4 minutes. Sorry if it tests your attention span. That was the best I could do.
The base: Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry Energizing Smoothee Mix (2 scoops)
The liquid: Plain Unsweetened Almond Milk (8 oz.)
The cold stuff: Ice
For chocolate, I like to add any combination of the following:
- Cinnamon
- Banana
- Peanut butter (only a little – HIGH FAT)
- Mint extract (think Thin Mints)
For strawberry, I might add:
- Fresh strawberries
- Banana
- Coconut extract
For vanilla, you can practically make a dessert:
- Peaches, vanilla extract (Peaches ‘n Cream)
- Canned pumpkin, cinnamon (Pumpkin Pie)
- Canned pineapple, coconut extract (Pina Colada)
I bet that’s way more variety than you usually have for breakfast or lunch anyway. Help me out. What’s a good combination you think I should try? I’m not afraid! Leave me your ideas and I’ll talk about them next month!
P.S. If you love my blender and feel like you have to buy one, I have an affiliate link for Vitamix over there in my sidebar or just click through and buy two or three. They make great gifts.
(And don’t forget to come back tomorrow for hopefully less embarrassing photos as I reveal my progress for the last 30 days!)
This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support, and incentives for participating. My opinions are my own.

Weeksworld loves smoothies, but we do the lower tech immersion (aka stick) blender method.
We start w/ 2 scoops of Trader Joe’s whey protein powder, 1/4-1/2 cup Chobani yogurt (vanilla or fruit of choice), about a 1/4 cup skim milk and Trader Joe’s frozen fruit (then you don’t need to add ice).
Favorite Weeksworld combos – quad berry (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries & blackberries) w/ straw, rasp or blueberry yogurt, pineapple-mango w/ pineapple yogurt, peaches & cream w/ peach or vanilla yogurt, and good ol’ strawberry-banana.
Now you’ve inspired me to try a scoop of peanut butter w/ chocolate protein powder, and I love the idea of using mint and coconut extracts!
Hey, what about using coconut milk in a smoothie? My oldest loves anything coconut. Thinkin’ I’ve got some smoothie experimenting to do. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
A lot of people on the program have used coconut milk. I’m not sure how much coconut flavor it has. I’ve been tempted to try it but everything I’ve seen has much higher calories than the almond milk. I’ve actually found that I don’t taste as much flavor with the frozen fruit so I prefer the fresh fruit and ice!
Do you ever add any green stuff? I used to make one with spinach and cilantro. Loved it!
I haven’t tried making any “green” smoothies – doubtful my menfolk would go it.
But I might be underestimating them – maybe you could share the recipe and I’ll give it a try.
Fun video! I agree with you, I can’t even imagine trying a Shaklee smoothie with water….I had never tried sweetened or unsweetened almond milk before this, but now I just love it. I like to add just a little bit of non-fat Greek yogurt (was using 1/2 cup, now down to 1/3 of one) just to make it a little heartier. Can’t wait for you # reveal tomorrow!
Thanks for the advice, Debra. I should try the yogurt. I use the banana to thicken it up but the yogurt would probably do the same and add protein at the same time!
