I. am. going. to. do. this. I proclaimed.
(Talking about the Shaklee 180 program)
I am going to be publicly held accountable. I’m going to post embarrassing photos of myself on the internet. I’ve got to show improvement.
But more importantly, I’ve got to show it’s real.
And with real come faults and mistakes and missteps. But I’m still holding my head up high.
My life is so not perfect and neither is my body but my video confession shows you that I’m mostly okay with it all.
For the record, I moved all of the yard sale stuff to the basement, I painted the first coat of the entry way, and I cleaned up the kitchen and the kitchen table (mostly). Turns out that all you have to do is film how unorganized your life is and suddenly, you’ll be motivated to do something about it.
Tomorrow, come back for my big 90 day reveal. You’ll see if my results were truly disasterous. And yes, there will be more bad photos.

I love this! I really needed to see this today. Thank you! And, I love your toaster!
Side note: I agonized over finding a toaster that was simple in function, looked nice, and actually toasted a piece of toast! That baby is a GE toaster from WalMart (shhh… don’t tell anyone I shop there).
You are AMAZING !!! I love how real you are and your conviction about the program !!!
I’m completey there with you… 3 more months and we’ll head towards our goals !!
It took more than 3 months to put this weight on, right? We can do this. But we have to keep it realistic for our own lives or we’ll never get there!
You are AMAZING! I love your house. My house is always in CHAOS. Thank you for this.
I actually edited out many other messy rooms for the sake of time. I have one clean room in my house right now and it’s dubbed “The Zen Room.” It’s the one place I can go to escape the chaos!!
I’m so thankful you shared this, my kitchen looks worse, and I often feel like I’m the only one in a chaotic mode. Seeing your video helps me stay focused on my goals, and knowing I’m not the only one on this journey, that often has unplanned stops.
For me, it’s the people who AREN’T in chaos mode that stand out. People tend to make life look easier online. But remember, we’re seeing the highlight reel!! We’ve got to take things as they come but not lose sight of the goal!
Ahh, it’s nice to know that other households look and moms feel like me. I’m always feeling in a state of chaos……here’s my kitchen secret – just put everything in the dishwasher and deal with it later!
There’s only one flaw with your secret. That assumes that I’ve emptied my dishwasher and have room to shove things in there!
True story: when we were househunting, we went into this Victorian house with a beautifully remodeled kitchen. My agent casually opened the oven and we found dirty dishes and a pizza box in there!
Love it. 🙂 You are gorgeous and poised as always. Messy kitchen – pfft, who cares?
You know, I’ve decided to stop apologizing to people when they come into my house for how messy it is. It is what it is and I told them to just assume it’s messy and then compliment me when it’s clean!
Your kitchen is my kitchen — well without the sippy cups. (or what looked briefly like a sippy cup). I have a big birthday this summer and every night I commit to getting 5 pounds off before that big day. Which is now about 40 days away. I am recommitting in the morning. Again. Loved your honesty.
I had to go back and watch the video because we’re well beyond the sippy cup phase! But yes, that was the Tupperware Sipper Seal! I use those only when my 6 year old is taking a drink into a room other than the kitchen because if I don’t, it will inevitably end up on the floor.
As for the big birthday… if you don’t get to where you want to be by then, guess what? You can start again the very next day. And the day after that. And so on!!
I always love watching your videos because you make me smile! You can totally do this!
Thank you! I found it’s easier to be lazy and not care than to care. So my biggest obstacle is me. Working on that!
Slow and steady wins the race and the results will last longer! Keep going, Fadra!!!
That’s my motto! Along with better late than never!!
Thanks, Cathy!
[…] it’s true. I’ve generally confessed that I hate housekeeping. I’ve even shown you videos of my messy, chaotic house (and thank you to those of you who said your house looks an awful lot like […]
