I’ve been out of the loop of just writing and I’m coming away from my first BlissDom Canada conference with a specific motivation to write. I set off on my trip to Toronto and eventually to the Blue Mountains with the idea that I wouldn’t really know anyone and I’d probably be that speaker that wandered around aimlessly and hid in her room.
I should have known better. Not only did I run into some great Canadian women that I already knew but I ran into some longtime friends that I had almost forgotten about.
A few years ago, the internet and the blogging community was very different. We read each other’s blogs and knew each other and chatted late at night on Twitter just for the fun of it. It was also when I used to write pretty regularly on Sundays for my Stream of Consciousness posts. I eventually stopped and then started again and then stalled. I want to create that community again and sometimes the magic comes and it goes, never to be recaptured again.
But the magic lived on when I met the Tilley from PreshusMe. Tilley was a regular on most Sundays and we read each other’s blogs along with so many other fabulous women (and the occasional man). She reminded me of our community and told me that now, whenever she feels like writing on a Sunday, she spends five minutes writing her own stream of consciousness post. It’s not a linkup or a cross-promotion. It’s just something she does and it’s because of what I started right here.
It made me feel good to know that some of the things I do have lasting impact and it’s what motivated me to just write this morning with no thought given to grammar or spelling or even length.
I’m going to take some time to focus on some writing over the next few weeks, catching up on deadlines, and then figuring out how to make the most of content and presence I’ve built. The unorganized me is starting to think about organization and goals and milestones and just moving forward with the space I love and figuring out how to help others do the same.
In the meantime, I’ve been experiencing some pretty great things and snapping about a million pics along the way. That’s what I want to share with you so be prepared for lots of visual goodness over the next few weeks. I’ve been wandering but I’m really not lost at all.

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of my time and an unedited brain dump.

It was so wonderful to meet you this weekend! I’m off to do my SOC post right now! 🙂
I miss SOC! It was the one time each week I would just write. Glad you had a good trip!
