Tidal New York sent me a complimentary pair of flip-flops (of my choosing!) to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Every time I go shopping for something new to add to my wardrobe, I think to myself,
This time it will be different. This time, I’m going to buy something that stands out, something that turns heads, something with a little pizzazz, and a pop color color.
Then I realize nobody uses the word “pizzazz” anymore and I buy the same old black, white, and gray items.
At the recent Mom 2.0 Summit in Pasadena, California, I tried to find a dress that would stand out for the awards night. And ended up with a black dress. And black shoes. And a black purse.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Everybody needs some good solid staples in their closet and you can never go wrong with neutral. But since I don’t like bright colors or pastels and I don’t like prints in any shape or form, I’m left with looking for a pop of color in my life.
In the summer, you’ll usually find that pop of color on my feet. I’ve been known to paint my toes a turquoise blue or seafoam green, because color feels like the perfect accessory for your feet, especially if you like to keep your toes accessible throughout summer.
When I had the chance to look through the selection of Tidal New York Flip-Flops, I was determined to get something that was completely out of my comfort zone. And I did when I picked the Halo Flip-Flops in Yellow.
And as soon as they arrived, winter be damned, it snowed. We got January snow, February snow, March snow, and even April snow. So my plans to brighten up my feet had to wait until the skies started to brighten up too.
Spring finally arrived just as I was heading out to Southern California for a women’s blogging conference but I threw my Tidal Flip-Flops into my bag thinking I’d at least get to wear them to the pool. And the day I arrived, Pasadena was having an unseasonable cool, overcast day with a high in the 60s. I was beginning to think that my feet might have to hibernate all year.
But when I finally arrived at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, I saw a sign against the backdrop of the gray skies telling me I just had to wait a day or two.
Bright yellow balloons greeted me at the conference registration table – a sure sign that there were more colorful days ahead.
Although I spent many hours indoors talking with brands, taking diligent session notes, and meeting celebrities, I made time to get outdoors and get inspired by the California sunshine.
If you’re a flip-flop loving girl (or guy – they have them for men!), Tidal New York offers high quality footwear in colors and patterns to suit any taste. And each paired has a slightly molded footbed so you actually have some support in these flip-flips.
But the best part of Tidal New York flip-flops is their story.
When two brothers had the chance to experience what they call “fast fashion factories” around the world, they knew they could create a better factory environment and, in turn, a better product. Tidal New York flip-flops are made just outside of New York City and every part of their production is done in-house, from molding through assembly.
In addition to creating high quality flip-flops, they also believe in creating a sustainable product and work environment. Their factory is staffed almost exclusively by Veterans and their materials are sourced from artisans at family-owned companies in the United States.
Also, they’re really really cute. And what I found after an afternoon at the pool in my yellow footwear is that a little pop of color changes your perspective and you can start seeing color everywhere!
Want to try a pair for yourself? It’s easy. Just go to Tidal New York, pick out the color and style and defines you, and place your order. If you are totally, completely, 100% satisfied, they have a fool-proof money-back guarantee.
